Watermaker & Desalination Service
A reliable watermaker transforms cruising. Anchorages that would otherwise require port calls every 10 days become open-ended. Long passages are no longer rationed. For most cruisers planning extended time at anchor, a watermaker is among the most life-changing investments.
Main brands and types
- Spectra Watermakers (USA): Modular, energy-efficient, cruiser-favorite. Cape Horn, Newport, Ventura models common.
- Schenker (Italy): Similar architecture, strong EU/Med presence.
- Katadyn (Switzerland): Smaller systems, manual options available.
- Sea Recovery / Horizon: Higher output, more typical on larger yachts.
- FCI Watermakers: US-made, full size range.
